The Parker family can be traced back to Freehold, Monmouth, New Jersey. Robert James Parker died in Ontario, Canada - whether he was a Loyalist and fled to Canada during the Revolutionary War is undocumented, but very probable. Robert George Parker eventually went out west, to Utah and Idaho. His son, James Slack Parker, was born in Utah, but helped settle Mountain View, Alberta, Canada. James Slack Parker returned to Utah where he died in 1936.
